Sport Coaching Volunteer Project in Africa

If you have a love for sports and a little sporting ability, then you could play an important part in the personal development of young sports men and women in Ghana. Our sports projects include soccer or football, basketball, net ball coaching in schools and communities. Sports can also provide a much-needed distraction from more negative aspects of people’s lives and, to many people from disadvantaged backgrounds, it can offer a route out of poverty and a path of excitement and promise. Sports projects share the following Aims; Fostering of local sports talent through provision of quality coaches, and support for our volunteer trainee coaches. Development of the wider communities in which we work through offering alternatives to young people from impoverished areas, Inclusion - making sports available to all. Sport coaching volunteers will work with students to increase their enthusiasm and to take advantage of raw talent. These children love football but are often come without any proper coaching background including basic ball skills and understanding of how the game is played. Dream Africa Care Foundation works with a variety of schools and youth clubs who are looking for sports volunteers. You will act as a football coach during school and a coach for the team after school. You may also need to run a tournament that is held with a multitude of participating schools. You will also combine his coaching with some regular or basic teachings as a result having a wider array of experience and enabling you get to know your students even better. Our projects are located in several regions in Ghana, West Africa. Ghana is an exciting and popular country to spend time in. The country was once a British colony know as the 'Gold Coast' but became independent in 1957. However, English is still the official language. Ghana is renowned for the friendliness and warmth of its people and provides you with a wonderful introduction to Africa. It is politically-stable, safe, affordable, and rewarding to visit. We have volunteer coordinators who will be responsible for you and the other volunteers, your well-being while volunteering with us is our priority. We make sure your trip is safe and our in-country coordinators will provide whatever support you may need at any step along the way. We have a very good support system in Ghana that will give you orientation and all the in country support you will need. Our projects run throughout the year so you can volunteer with us any time that is suitable for you. Our minimum volunteering period is two weeks and the maximum of one year. You need to send us your application form at least three weeks before your intended trip to Ghana to volunteer with us. This will give us enough time to send you all the necessary document and information you will need for your visa. You can choose to stay either with a host family or in a volunteer house together with other volunteers from all over the world. Our projects are not all about work, as a volunteer you get the weekend off to go on trips, relax and explore Ghana. The country has so much to offer volunteers with its rich culture, festivals, food, art & craft centers, castles & forts, long sandy beaches, national parks, waterfalls, rain forest, beach resorts and so on. Every weekend we organize trips for our volunteers to travel throughout Ghana to experience the Ghanaian cultural and explore. Our organization gives you an excellent opportunity to combine adventurous travel with a worthwhile job as a volunteer. You will improve your transferable skills such as team-work, presentation and communication.
